In French cuisine, sausage is used to cook white meat and vegetable soups. Germans often use it on sausage dishes. It is also commonly used in Italian cuisine. In the Balkans and Middle East, it is used in lamb roasts.

The Latin name for acapella sage, means "to heal". Although the efficacy of the life-saver is debatable, it has been recommended over time for almost all illnesses. Effects such as anhydrotic, antibiotic, antifungal, astringent, anti-spasmodic, estrogenic, hypoglycemic and tonic. It was concluded that salvage was effective in controlling some states of Alzheimer's disease.
